The Platform / Operations Intern will support the reliability, observability, and operational maturity of Linker Finance's platform. This role focuses on improving monitoring, alerting, incident visibility, runbook documentation, and production readiness practices across the system. This internship blends platform operations, DevOps fundamentals, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts within a fintech environment. The intern will work closely with engineering and leadership to improve system visibility, reduce operational risk, and support a more scalable, production-ready platform.
• Assist in reviewing and improving monitoring coverage across key platform services and dependencies.
• Help build dashboards that increase visibility into system health, performance, availability, and operational trends.
• Support configuration and refinement of alerts and thresholds so issues can be detected earlier with less noise.
• Contribute to improving observability across both backend and customer-facing platform components.
• Support tracking and documentation of incidents, issues, and operational follow-up items.
• Assist in analyzing root causes and identifying recurring operational themes that should be addressed systematically.
• Help improve incident response workflows, communication patterns, and operational follow-through.
• Contribute to efforts that reduce noise, improve signal quality, and strengthen platform support readiness.
• Assist in creating and maintaining runbooks for common operational, support, and recovery scenarios.
• Support development of standardized operational procedures and escalation guidance.
• Help document recovery steps, support patterns, and ownership expectations for critical platform areas.
• Contribute to improving operational consistency as the platform scales across more customers and environments.
• Support the development and enforcement of production readiness expectations for new features and services.
• Assist in ensuring that new work includes core operational needs such as documentation, logging, monitoring, alerting, deployment readiness, and security awareness.
• Help build reusable templates and checklists that improve delivery quality and operational discipline.
• Contribute to a stronger platform engineering mindset by connecting new development to real production standards.
• Gain exposure to infrastructure and automation concepts such as Infrastructure as Code, environment setup, and repeatable platform operations.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to reduce manual operational work through standardization and automation.
• Support efforts to improve consistency in dashboards, monitors, and related operational tooling across applications.
• Help document and organize platform operations in ways that make the environment easier to scale and support.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, documentation, and operational readiness discussions.
• Assist in validating recovery procedures and identifying potential gaps or follow-up actions.
• Support tabletop exercises and resiliency-focused reviews where appropriate.
• Help strengthen confidence in the platform's recovery and operational preparedness over time.
• Currently enrolled in a college or university program related to Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a similar field.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms, APIs, system architecture, or application operations.
• Interest in DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or production operations.
• Familiarity with scripting in Python, Bash, or similar languages is a plus.
• Exposure to monitoring, logging, or infrastructure concepts is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to learn operational best practices.
• Experience working on team-based technical or academic projects.
