The Vice President of Implementation & Onboarding is an executive leader responsible for the successful delivery, onboarding, and operational readiness of customers adopting complex, technology-driven platforms. This role owns the end-to-end implementation lifecycle—from contract handoff and solution design through integrations, migration, go-live, and stabilization. This leader brings deep experience managing large-scale implementation portfolios within fintech and digital banking environments, including complex integrations, custom development, and production readiness. The role ensures implementations are predictable, scalable, profitable, and executed with high quality while partnering closely with product, engineering, DevSecOps, and operations teams.
• Own enterprise implementation and onboarding strategy across all customer segments.
• Define standardized yet flexible onboarding models that scale across customer size and complexity.
• Establish implementation methodologies, governance models, and success criteria.
• Serve as executive escalation point for complex or at-risk implementations.
• Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across all onboarding engagements.
• Lead global implementation, conversion, and onboarding teams responsible for customer delivery.
• Oversee large portfolios of concurrent projects, including complex migrations, upgrades, and platform transitions.
• Establish strong program management discipline across scope, timelines, dependencies, and risk.
• Drive continuous improvement in implementation velocity, predictability, and outcomes.
• Ensure smooth handoff between sales, implementation, and production support teams.
• Provide executive oversight for complex technical integrations involving core banking platforms, APIs, middleware, and third-party systems.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, and product teams to align implementation approaches with platform capabilities.
• Guide solution design decisions for custom development, data migrations, and system integrations.
• Ensure technical requirements are well understood, feasible, and consistently executed.
• Support customer technical teams during discovery, integration planning, and testing phases.
• Ensure implementations meet production readiness standards prior to go-live.
• Partner with DevSecOps, SRE, and production support teams to align onboarding with operational and security requirements.
• Oversee go-live execution, hypercare, and stabilization periods.
• Own customer-facing coordination during go-live incidents and early-life escalations.
• Drive root-cause analysis and improvements to reduce post-implementation defects and incidents.
• Own implementation and professional services revenue associated with onboarding activities.
• Balance capacity planning, utilization, and staffing models across global delivery teams.
• Drive margin improvement through process optimization and delivery efficiency.
• Manage third-party vendors and implementation partners supporting onboarding and migration efforts.
• Ensure vendors meet quality, timeline, and cost expectations.
• Lead implementation teams through platform changes, acquisitions, and major product transitions.
• Adapt onboarding models to support new products, cloud migrations, and architectural shifts.
• Ensure teams are trained and ready to deliver against evolving platform capabilities.
• Provide feedback to product and engineering teams based on implementation insights.
• 15+ years of experience leading implementations, onboarding, professional services, or delivery organizations.
• Proven executive leadership in fintech, digital banking, or financial services technology environments.
• Extensive experience managing complex integrations, migrations, and enterprise-scale onboarding programs.
• Strong technical background across SaaS platforms, cloud environments, APIs, and middleware.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with engineering, DevSecOps, and production support teams.
• Experience leading global, multi-site delivery teams and managing high project volumes concurrently.
Additional Requirements
• Experience working with banks, fintech companies, core providers, or other regulated financial services organizations is strongly preferred.
• Willingness to complete a background check, in accordance with applicable local laws and regulations.
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment with product, design, engineering, and leadership teams.
